Riegert Nortje, Managing Director, Free To Grow

Riegert joined Free To Grow in 1996. His B Juris LLB, experience as a practising attorney and a diploma in management culminated in Riegert fulfilling the functions of Managing Director, Financial Director, Company Secretary and Legal Advisor, amongst others.


Over the years he played a pivotal role in shaping strategy, structure and systems, contributing to creating a sustainable business with a reputable brand. Riegert has also been central in achieving important milestones in Free To Grow’s journey, such as ISO 9001 certification and the transition of the company to a Black-Owned Business. Riegert is grateful that he can be part of a vibrant organisation that has a significantly positive impact on the lives of people and organisations.


Riegert is currently a Director of the business and focusses on legal, procurement, tenders and BBEEE matters.


Career highlights include:


2017: Managed the transition of Free To Grow to a Black-Owned business.

2005:  Set up Free To Grow South Africa (Pty) Ltd as a BEE company in which Free To Grow facilitators have shares.

2003: Obtained interim registration as a service provider from the Services SETA

2001: Aligned the systems to obtain ISO 9001 certification

1997: Set up the license system in which Free To Grow operates with its procedures and legal structure
